Application Instructions

Please read the application instructions carefully. Applications received without the requested supporting documentation may not be considered.

For positions with our Head Start, Early Head Start, and childcare programs, applicants already holding a current Letter of Suitability from the Mississippi State Department of Health (Criminal History Record Check) and Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121) should provide copies with their application. Additional health and other screening is usually conducted after the interview/offer stage. Full instructions and all the necessary reference forms are located below.

Qualifications:

Send copies of degrees, diplomas, certifications, or licenses that support your qualifications. If you are applying for a position that requires a college degree, you must send a transcript. Sealed, official transcripts may not be required at the time of application or interview, but will be required for employment.

References:

Providing professional references is an important part of your application. References submitted without adequate contact information cannot be processed and may prevent serious consideration of your application.

Please provide at least three Professional Reference forms. Complete all the applicant sections and sign before giving these forms to your references. Ask your references to complete the reference sections, sign, and either fax or mail to the number/address provided on the forms.

Interviews:

JCCAC interviews are conducted by a panel of two or more. Interviewees for some positions may be asked to write a question’s answer and to read orally.

Screenings:

Additional screenings will be required of selected candidates that may include some or all of the following:

  • Child Abuse Central Registry
  • Sex Offender Registry
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Immunization Certification (Form 121)
  • Motor Vehicle Report
  • TB Test
  • Health Exam
  • Drug Screen
  • Policy Council Approval
Follow-up:

For most positions, only applicants selected for interview will be contacted. This should occur within 30 days from the posted application deadline. Applications not selected for interview will be retained for six months for possible reconsideration.
