The Senior Citizens Program provides socialization opportunities for participants in a group environment, encouraging continued involvement of the elderly in diverse activities. All persons 60 years of age or older are eligible to apply for any services provided by this program.

The services provided are as follows:

¨ Congregate Meals - a nutritionally balanced meal meeting of the current recommended dietary allowances for persons over 60 is served in each center at 11:30 a.m. four days a week.

¨ Transportation - participants are provided transportation to access available  services in Jackson County, allowing them to maintain independence.

¨ Information and Referral - provides information to older individuals about opportunities and services available and assists them in securing these services.

¨ Home Delivered Meals - nutritionally balanced meals are delivered to persons unable to leave their homes without assistance. Five frozen meals are delivered once a week, enabling these participants to meet their nutritional needs and maintain independence.
